Jose ("Ze") Dias
Jose (“Ze”) Dias

Hi my name is Jose Dias

Head instructor of Rio Pro BJJ. I wanted to thank you for checking out my program. Today i’m a successful business owner and martial artist full of confidence and pride in my program. But it wasn’t always this way. As a child I was a quiet, shy, and nervous kid without a direction in life. It wasn’t until I stepped foot into the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 14 that my life drastically improved. It was my experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that shaped me to be the man I am today. I attended High schools and colleges all over the world… but nothing taught me more life lessons than the pursuit of a Black Belt in BJJ. Through the art I did not only lean how to defend myself physically, but I learned the priceless lesson in how to live a well-balanced and healthy life.

My journey to black belt taught me moral values, respect for people from all walks of life, but most of all and unbreakable non-quitting spirit that to this day allows me to accomplish anything I set my mind to. It was these lessons in life that I knew needed to be passed on to more children. That this lifestyle will change lives for the better. My team of instructors and I want to have a chance for your kids to go through and learn what I have learned and come out better adults in the end.

Are you doing everything you can to:

  • Arm your child to succeed in life?
  • Help them be the best they can be in school?
  • Develop their self confidence?
  • Assist them in developing their unique potential?
  • Learn self discipline?
  • Combat childhood obesity?
  • Help your child be a person of character?

Most parents do everything they can to teach these things to their children. But many parents need some help.

How is your child spending their time after school?

Between the 1st and 7th grade, a child spends an average of 4200 hours doing nothing productive. In 4200 hours, you could graduate from college, get your Master’s Degree and your Ph. D. So why wouldn’t you let your child spend this valuable time learning skills that will last a lifetime?

When our children get out of school, their parents know that their child is being trained in real life skills. With our busy 21st century schedules, it’s hard to find the time and resources to really help them with these important life skills.

You would think and expect that they would learn about perserverance, positive mental attitude, self-discipline and goal setting in school, but they really don’t.

Students who attend Rio Pro are a step up on others, because we teach them about those important life skills and how to develop them to their fullest! These successful traits will pay off for the rest of their lives.

If you have a three to thirteen year old looking for something to do after school, look no further. Rio Pro offers classes Monday through Saturday, where your child will have structured programs and games to develop their social skills, mental awareness, self-esteem, self-confidence, respect, anger management, and much, much more. All of this is inside safe facilities, with high-quality instruction and convenient locations on both side of Cleveland.

Invest on your child’s future, the skills we are offering are priceless and they will carry them with them for a lifetime. An man or woman with manners, respect, and self-discipline can achieve all their dreams!

But don’t take our word for it read what Rio Pro parents have to say about us…

“Rio Pro BJJ is a diamond in the rough in the stacked wrestling state of Ohio. My son has been training at Rio Pro BJJ since its opening. He already had two years under his belt before he met our new family. Over the last two years, they have taken my son Thomas’ grappling game to a whole new level, working with top fight instructors straight from the motherland of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Rio de Janerio, Brazil. After winning many state tournaments and the Grappler’s Quest U.S. Nationals, I can’t believe his game is still improving. It seems we’ve only scratched the surface in squeezing knowledge out of his Professor. They bring a steady supply of black belts in from World Renowned schools, such as Grace Barra in Rio de Janerio, as well as professional MMA fighters to make sure your game is evolving. These instructors also compete themselves, which help motive the students that they are not only teachers, but students of the game also. There is no other place we would rather be. Hands down the best BJJ/submission grappling school Ohio has to offer.”

Our son, Dylan, began training at Rio Pro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu shortly after the school opened. From day one, we’ve always said he’d be a State Wrestling Champ, so after hearing a previous State Wrestling Champ credit jiu-jitsu as being beneficial to his wrestling training, we began looking for jiu-jitsu school for Dylan to train at during his off-season. Needless to say, we found a whole lot more than just something to do during his off-season.

For this reason, we enrolled our daughter, Graciella, in the kid’s class last fall. It is definitely a sport girls can benefit from learning as well. Our daughter is more reserved than our son, so for Graciella participating in the Rio Pro kid’s class really helped her to open up. She wouldn’t participate in a dance class, but she sure loves to spar!
Professor Ante is the Beachwood kids instructor, and he is fantastic with the kids. When the mats became more crowded, Rio Pro brought in two Junior Instructors to assist during class. As a mom, this appeals to me because more assistance increases the likelihood that the moves are being learned correctly. Additionally, this demonstrates how important our children’s safety is to Rio Pro. The men who assist are not parents who just jump on the mat to help out. They are students themselves in the adult class. There is no preferential treatment.

For both our children, jiu-jitsu has taught them confidence and discipline. At a time when parents are becoming more and more aware of bullying, Rio Pro is providing our children with the confidence and necessary skills to stand up to bullies! In fact, my husband has already witnessed Dylan doing so one day after school this past year.
In comparison to other schools, Rio Pro stands out because of their excellent instructors as well as the way students are recognized and promoted. If you are looking for a school where your child’s belt color advances quicker than their skills, Rio Pro is not the place for you. At Rio Pro, students earn their next stripe. They earn their new belt. They earn their next promotion.
